STANDARD POODLE Comes to Town Hall Theater, 5/8

Patty Smith, the elder stateswoman of the Vermont dance scene, has performed at Town Hall Theater as a solo dancer, with her students, and with dancers from around the state. On Wednesday, May 8th, she joins Karen Amirault and Shelley Ismail to create an evening of dance under the title Standard Poodle.

Dance Council of North Texas to Host SUMMER SALSA Series, Aug 2013

The Dance Council of North Texas and the Town of Addison are excited to announce this year's Summer Salsa series. Spice up your Saturday nights in August with live Salsa music and learn how to Salsa dance from the experts. This FREE social dance series is perfect for the whole family, and all experience levels are welcome. Join us every Saturday night in August (3, 10, 17, 24, 31) at 7:00pm for one hour of dance instruction followed by one hour of social dancing with a live band. If you just want to come and watch make sure you bring a lawn chair or blanket because this event is all done outside. Our sizzling salsa expert, Sandy De Lara, is sure to get you up and moving.

Danny Quadrino, Andrea Ross and More Set for ALL OF MY FRIENDS ARE WHORES at the Duplex Tonight

Broadway's Danny Quadrino (Bye Bye Birdie), Andrea Ross (Whistle Down The Wind) and Lindsey Carothers (Bring It On) are among the cast of Pace University students for a one night only concert of songs and monologues by award-winning theater writer Drew Fornarola (COLLEGE The Musical, Molly Shannon's Tilly The Trickster). The show plays at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave) tonight, April 22nd at 9:30pm. The evening is curated and directed by Joshua W. Kelley, with music direction by Addison O'Donnell, and stage managed by Coleman Annison.

Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart to Star in Broadway-Bound NO MAN'S LAND at Berkeley Rep, 8/3-31

Tonight, at the annual gala celebrating the Tony Award-winning Berkeley Repertory Theatre, the nonprofit's artistic director thrilled the crowd with a surprise announcement: Tony Taccone informed the guests that legendary actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart will perform at Berkeley Rep in a pre-Broadway engagement of No Man's Land. Award-winning director Sean Mathias stages Harold Pinter's masterwork in the Roda Theatre for an exclusive and strictly limited run in August.

Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis Debut First Duo Album CHEATERS GAME at Freight & Salvage Tonight

Bruce Robison is the writer of such No. 1 country hits as 'Wrapped' for George Strait, 'Angry All the Time' for Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, and 'Travelin' Solider' for the Dixie Chicks. Kelly Willis is a sensational singer with ten albums to her credit, the first few in the classic country style of Nashville, and the later ones in the alt-country style of Austin. Bruce and Kelly have been married since 1996, and they've been collaborating on raising their four children, ages seven to 12, for the past many years, but their new album, Cheater's Game, is their first as a duo.

Ryan Scott Oliver's HATCHED: FRESH WORK, FRESHMEN Comes to 54 Below, 5/8

Boiler Room Theatre Announces Summer Camps

The Act Too Players (ATP), Williamson County's premier training program for all youths interested in the performing arts have teamed up with the Boiler Room, Williamson County's original and longest-running professional theatre company to host summer camps. The Act Too Players and The Boiler Room Theatre have been hosting Summer Camps together for the past 10 years. The partnership has been formed to provide students the best theatrical experience in Williamson County. Every student gets the opportunity to rehearse with the best directors, musical directors, and technical staff. Our goal is to instruct your child on the art of theatre while providing a fun, safe, environment. BWW Reviews: Limited Return to Pantages of Arthur Laurents' Latest WEST SIDE STORY

When the original West Side Story opened on Broadway in 1957, it changed in many ways the concept of what constitutes a Broadway musical. Its creative team-writer Arthur Laurents, director Jerome Robbins, composer Leonard Bernstein, and lyricist Stephen Sondheim-took Romeo and Juliet and turned it into a pulsing, kinetic opera about rival gangs of Puerto Ricans and Poles on Manhattan's west side, and the tragic consequences of their violent hatred for each other to Tony and Maria (Larry Kert and Carol Lawrence), who have fallen in love.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre Will Open Its Season With VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre revealed the seventh show selected for its upcoming season. The Tony Award-winning nonprofit will begin its 46th year of smart and adventurous shows with Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, the hilarious Broadway hit from three-time Obie Award-winner Christopher Durang. Respected director Richard E.T. White returns to the Bay Area to stage this hugely popular show in September.
