Joey Folsom to Lead WaterTower Theatre's HANK WILLIAMS: LOST HIGHWAY; Cast Announced

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the cast for Hank Williams: Lost Highway running October 11 - November 3, 2013 on the Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. Joey Folsom stars as Hank Williams. The cast features several WaterTower Theatre favorites including Pam Dougherty as Mama Lilly, Stan Graner as Fred Rose (Pap), Mikaela Krantz as Audrey Williams, Joseph Holt as Leon (Loudmouth) and Sonny Franks as Jimmy (Burrhead). The cast also includes Major Attaway as Tee-Tot,Christia Mantzke as The Waitress, Dave Rankin as Hoss and Dennis Bailey as Shag. This production is sponsored by Frost Bank and WaterTower Theatre Board of Directors.

Aurora Theatre Opens Season with AFTER THE REVOLUTION Tonight

Aurora Theatre Company opens its 22nd season with the Bay Area Premiere of Obie-winning playwright Amy Herzog's (4000 Miles, Belleville, The Great God Pan) family drama AFTER THE REVOLUTION. What happens when the person you revere isn't exactly who you think they are? The young, brilliant Emma Joseph is a high achiever shaken to the core by disillusion. She proudly carries the torch of her family's Marxist tradition by devoting her life to the memory of her famously blacklisted grandfather, but when a new book reveals shocking truths about the man himself, the entire family is forced to confront questions of honesty and allegiance they thought had long ago been resolved.

Robin Armstrong, Akin Babatunde and More Among WaterTower Theatre's 2013-14 Directors

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced the directors for the Company's 2013-2014 Main Stage season at the Addison Theatre Centre. Directing the season opener, Hank Williams: Lost Highway (October 11-November 3, 2013) will be Michael Serrecchia. The Game's Afoot (or Holmes for the Holidays) (December 13- January 5, 2014) will be directed by Robin Armstrong. The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (January 24-February 16, 2014) will be directed by Emily Scott Banks. Spunk (April 11-May 4, 2014) will be directed by Akin Babatunde.Good People (June 6-29, 2014) will be directed by Rene Moreno and Dogfight (July 25-August 17, 2014) will be directed by Terry Martin.

Jay Craven's NORTHERN BORDERS to be Screened at Various Vermont Venues in Sept.

Award-winning Vermont director Jay Craven will present his new film, “Northern Borders,” at special screenings, Friday, September 6th at the Brandon Town Hall; Friday, September 13th , Vergennes Opera House; Saturday, September 14th at Middlebury Town Hall Theater; and Sunday, September 15th at Holley Hall, Bristol. Showtimes are 7:30pm. The film is based on the award-winning novel by Vermont writer Howard Frank Mosher.

Michelle Obama & Daughters Take Trip to 'BOUNTIFUL'

According to a source within the production, the Obama ladies slipped into their seats just prior to the beginning of the show, though received a 'huge ovation' when they returned at intermission for the second act. After the curtain call, the Obamas went backstage and met the cast and crew, including Cuba Gooding, Jr., Vanessa Williams, and Tyson.

These works, nine of which have been staged on Broadway with stars including Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Charles Dutton, among many others, showed the suffering, joys, and triumphs of African-Americans through searing, poetic and personal stories of everyday people in Pittsburgh, PA.

Cuba Gooding Jr. to Play Final Performance in THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, 8/27

Academy Award winner CUBA GOODING JR. will give his final performance in the critically acclaimed revival of Horton Foote's American masterpiece, THE TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL, on Tuesday, August 27th, due to a change in schedule for an upcoming film project. Gooding made his Broadway debut in the acclaimed revival and can currently be seen nationwide in the hit film, Lee Daniels' The Butler.

WaterTower Theatre Adds New Saturday Morning Children's Class

Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin today announced that WaterTower Theatre has added a new program to its multi-dimensional education and community outreach efforts with the addition of new Saturday Morning Theatre Classes for children. The 8-week session of classes will begin September 28 and run through November 16, 2013 every Saturday morning from 9 am to 12 noon. The classes are targeted to children in grades 1 through 6. The cost of the class is $250 per student.

One Day Only 21, Rover Dramawerks' signature short plays festival from concept to curtain just one day, will be presented on August 24 at 8:00 p.m. at the Courtyard Theater, 1509 H Avenue in Plano.
