Parental authority and young love - almost inevitable parts of growing up. Town Hall Theater's Young Company is simultaneously tackling two very different plays that deal with these tricky subjects.

Jean Anouilh's drama Antigone and Disney's musical Aladdin Jr. will be performed as a double bill tonight, Monday, August 19, at 7pm. The same young actors will perform in both productions with only a brief intermission to change gears.

"This is a talented group and it's a real stretch for them to encounter Greek tragedy and then learn the complicated music and choreography required for Disney's Aladdin," say THT's Education Director Lindsay Pontius. "It's a big challenge, but we really want our education programs to teach a variety of skills."

The ensemble includes Ethan Allred, Eva Espenshade, Gianna Kiehl, Megan Kelley, Nimaya Lemal, Hattie Lindert, DJ Piper, DJ Sandler, Eric Shambo, Harmony Taggart, Addison Wales, Oziah Wales, and AriAnne Wilson.

Antigone and Aladdin Jr. will be performed on the main stage at Town Hall Theater tonight, August 19, at 7 pm. The event is free, though donations will be accepted to benefit THT's education program. Town Hall Theater is located on Merchants Row in Middlebury. For information call 802-382-9222.
