The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc., in residence at CCBC Essex, opens its spring season with Disney's The Lion King, Jr.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative details for The 24-Hour Plays.

WaterTower Theatre Managing Director Gregory  Patterson and Associate Artistic Director Kelsey Leigh Ervi today announced details for the Second Annual 24-HR Play Festival. Performances will take place on WaterTower Theatre's Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Conference and Theatre Centre today, February 25, 2017 at 8pm.

The search is over! Following a nationwide man-hunt, casting for the highly-anticipated production, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS is now finalized. Inspired by the ever-popular Magic Mike film franchise and conceived by the film's star Channing Tatum, MAGIC MIKE LIVE LAS VEGAS will feature 13 of the hottest and most talented males from around the country. Preview performances for the sizzling production will begin on Thursday, March 30 at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino inside of the mythic Club Domina. The show will celebrate its official opening night on Friday, April 21.

The world premiere Signature Theatre production of Everybody, written by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Lila Neugebauer, runs now through March 19, 2017 and officially opened last night, February 21, on The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Lion (See-Saw Films) was voted 'Film of the Year' and also won the award for 'Best Adoptive Parents,' Finding Dory (Pixar Animation Studios / Walt Disney Pictures) was voted 'Best Animated Feature' and also won the award for 'Best Foster or Adoptive Family,' and Father Unknown (KT! The CHICAGO ONE-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL (#1MPF) returns to The Den Theatre for its seventh year - this time exploring America and Chicago in 2017 in the wake of the Presidential election. The marathon evening of one-minute plays by more than 60 of Chicago's established and emerging playwrights and directors is presented two nights only, Today, February 21 and Wednesday, February 22, 2016 at The Den Theatre, 1333 N. Black Ensemble Theater Founder and CEO Jackie Taylor opens the 2017 Season (The Dance Theater Season) with the world premiere musical My Brother's Keeper-The Story of The Nicholas Brothers, written and directed by Black Ensemble Theater Associate Director Rueben Echoles. My Brother's Keeper (The Story of The Nicholas Brothers) will be performed at the Black Ensemble Theater Cultural Center, 4450 N. Clark Street in Chicago, February 11 - March 26, 2017.  The official press opening is Sunday, February 19, 2017 at 3:00pm. 

The Theatre Group at SBCC will continue the 16/17 season with the hilarious farce, A FLEA IN HER EAR, a new version of Georges Feydeau's farce by David Ives, Directed by R. Michael Gros, March 1-18, 2017 in the Garvin Theatre.

Arena Stage announces full casting for Lillian Hellman's Watch on the Rhine, winner of the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. Four-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner Marsha Mason, known for her performances in the films Cinderella Liberty, The Goodbye Girl, Chapter Two and Only When I Laugh, stars as Fanny Farrelly under esteemed director Jackie Maxwell, former artistic director of Canada's Shaw Festival. Set in Washington, D.C. on the brink of U.S. involvement in World War II, Hellman's suspenseful drama was hailed by the Chicago Tribune as "dramatically gripping and genuinely moving." Watch on the Rhine runs February 3-March 5, 2017 in the Fichandler Stage.

Rise Above Performing Arts will present The Florida Premiere of The Love Note this February at The Glenridge Performing Arts Center in Sarasota Florida. The musical that features book, music and lyrics by Gail Phaneuf made its Off Broadway debut in November 2014 at The Actors Temple Theatre.
