The Lyric Stage Company of Boston announces 5 of 7 plays for its 2017-18 Season, Spiro Veloudos's 20th Season as Producing Artistic Director.   

Cherry Lane Theatre has announced casting for the second production of the Obie award-winning MENTOR PROJECT 2017 now in its 19th season.

WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced the appointment of David Lozano to direct Native Gardens by Karen Zacarias.  Mr. Lozano, Executive Artistic Director of Dallas' Cara Mia Theatre Co., will be making his directorial debut at WTT with Native Gardens. 

As part of the 2017 Spring Puppet Forum Series, the Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut will present a discussion with graphic designer and author Bruce Kennett titled W.A. Dwiggins: Puppetry and Graphic Design on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at 7 p.m. in the Ballard Institute Theater, located at 1 Royce Circle in Storrs Center.

This time the series features a rarely produced Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman musical, Road Show. Road Show comes to the Next Step Concert Series March 31-April 2. WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced casting and creative team details for the Regional Premiere of Scott Carter's The Gospel According to Thomas Jefferson, Charles Dickens, and Count Leo Tolstoy: Discord, directed by Emily Scott Banks. Discord will run April 14-May 7, 2017, in the Canterbury Family Main Stage at the Addison Theatre Centre. The cast features Ian Ferguson as Thomas Jefferson, John-Michael Marrs as Charles Dickens, and Jeremy Schwartz as Count Leo Tolstoy.

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc., in residence at CCBC Essex, opens its spring season with Disney's The Lion King, Jr.

Following critically acclaimed, sold-out runs at Don't Tell Mama and the 2016 New York Musical Festival (NYMF), Midnight at The Never Get, conceived by and starring Sam Bolen and Mark Sonnenblick, with book, music and lyrics by Mr. Sonnenblick, directed by Max Friedman (Ruby Manger Live!, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band), and produced by Michael Chase Gosselin (POPE! Plum Stab, LLC presents 420: THE MUSICAL, written by John Kehoe, with music by Laura Lonski, at The Kraine Theater on - you guessed it - April 20th, 2017. 

The Life, which makes its long awaited London debut, directed by the show's original Broadway director, Michael Blakemore, will run at Southwark Playhouse for a strictly limited season from 25 March - 29 April 2017, with press night on 29 March. WaterTower Theatre Artistic Director Joanie Schultz today announced the Company will produce Hit the Wall, the groundbreaking Ike Holter play about the 1969 Stonewall uprising.  This production, the first to be selected and directed by Schultz, will replace the previously scheduled Sunday in the Park with George.
