Eli Merchant Releases 'The Collectivistic Premise'

'The Collectivistic Premise: Economics in a New Key' (published by AuthorHouse), by author Eli Merchant, views economics from a new perspective, acknowledging the influence of art, philosophy, history, psychology, ethics and other factors not often looked at, and challenges the premises on which economic thought has been conventionally based. According to many economists since the time of Adam Smith, self-interest is the main motive driving human beings in the economic sphere and the only true guarantor of human productivity and wealth creation. Ethical and moral considerations; however nobly intentioned, are irrelevant and even counterproductive in their application to the operations of the marketplace.
