Urban Stages (Frances Hill, Founding Artistic Director), in association with producer/director/lyricist Peter Napolitano announces a series of musical evenings entitled WINTER RHYTHMS 2012, beginning on Tuesday, December 4 and running through Friday, December 15, 2012 at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street). Tickets are $25 per show (both shows in one night, $40). Beer and wine will be available for a $3 donation. Tickets may be purchased on www.smarttix.com or 212 868-4444.

Tonight, December 2, 2012, more than 10 of Broadway Sings for Pride's Broadway and theater luminaries will take part in a very special 102nd birthday celebration benefiting victims of Hurricane Sandy. In honor of Msgr. Marinacci's 102nd birthday, The Basilica of Saint Patrick's Old Cathedral will be hosting a fundraiser on behalf of the victims of Hurricane Sandy from 1:30-4:00pm at the Saint Patrick's Youth Center.

On Sunday, December 2, 2012, more than 10 of Broadway Sings for Pride's Broadway and theater luminaries will take part in a very special 102nd birthday celebration benefiting victims of Hurricane Sandy. Fiddlehead Theatre Company, in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union, with the support of Mayor Thomas M. Menino, City of Boston, present a new production of the Tony Award-winning musical RAGTIME. The production is currently running through October 7, 2012 at Boston's Historic Strand Theatre, and aims to celebrate the work of the ACLU, and in particular keep issues of personal liberty at the forefront of people's minds during the upcoming elections. The 7th Annual New York's Funniest Reporter Show (http://www.nyfunniestreporter.com) will take place on Thursday, September 27th at 8:00 pm at Comic Strip Live (1568 Second Ave / bet 81st & 82nd) comedy club. It will feature six media professionals each doing five minutes of stand up comedy in order to raise money for the Humane Society of New York (http://www.humanesocietyny.org/). At the end of the night, a winner will be declared.

Nominees for the 2012 LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards were announced Tuesday evening at the Renberg Theatre inside the Gay and Lesbian Center in Los Angeles. The 2012 Ovation Awards ceremony will take place on Monday, November 12, at the historic Los Angeles Theatre, 615 South Broadway, in downtown Los Angeles at 7:30 pm. If any New York cabaret performers staging shows last Wednesday evening (July 11) found their audiences a bit sparse, it's probably Dana Lorge's fault. The endearing and ditzy entertainment diva's final weekly talent showcase at Iguana NYC Restaurant on West 54th Street (just east of the new 54 Below) didn't bring out every cabaret connected person in the city, but it sure seemed that way. And if MAC had a vote for 'Variety Show of the Year,' Lorge's last Iguana presentation would win in a landslide.

The concert will benefit the Hetrick-Martin Institute, The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center of New York City and Broadway Sings for Pride.
