Shakespeare & Company is thrilled to announce its 2019 summer season, May 23 - October 13, 2019.

DIAVOLO returns to Columbus following its success as one of the top 10 finalists in season 12 of NBC's "America's Got Talent." The Los Angeles-based company continues to push a new edge of performance with Artistic Director Jacques Heim's inventive genius and his fearless, athletic daredevils. The program will include Diavolo's signature work Trajectoire and new work Voyage, featuring meticulously designed architectural structures that have become the company's hallmark. With a style that encompasses dance, acrobatics, and gymnastics, DIAVOLO explores the relationship between the human body and its architectural environment.

 It is with deep sadness that Shakespeare & Company announces the passing of beloved Founder and Director of Training Dennis Krausnick, who has been a leader of the Company since its inception in 1978. There will be a Public Memorial Service held on June 24, 2019 at 1:00pm on the Shakespeare & Company campus in Lenox, MA. The Company's 2019 Season will be dedicated to his legacy. 

HIR is anything but traditional. Playwright Taylor Mac has termed his work 'absurd realism' wherein 'the absurdity comes from a heightened but realistic point of view'. Those bold, brave, and open enough to sit in the discomfort that may come with looking at things from diverse points of view will be rewarded with a rich, and very real perspective on the world in which we live.

Honoring Trustee Michael A. Miller for his twenty-five years of service, Shakespeare & Company held its 2018 Season Gala on Saturday, June 30th. The sold-out benefit, co-chaired by Rhea Werner and Suzanne Werner, was the most successful in Company history, raising more than $400,000 for Training, Education, and Performance programs.

After an impressive initial programming lineup announcement, the 11th Annual Las Vegas Film Festival, partnered with CineVegas, today announces additional programming – including shorts, labs and college shorts showcases. Additionally, the schedule of screenings and live events is now available online at www.lvff.com/schedule/. The 2018 Festival will take place June 6 – 10at Brenden Theatres and Palms Casino Resort.

Southern California audiences will experience some of the most captivating and entertaining dance performances during The Music Center's upcoming dance season, with choreography that expresses deep emotions and movement that showcases the dimensions of both classical and contemporary dance.  Featuring a wide range of popular and groundbreaking dance companies, including The Music Center premiere of Company Wayne McGregor and the return of The Royal Ballet to The Music Center's stages after a 20-year absence, along with Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, L.A.'s own Diavolo/Architecture in Motion and George Balanchine's The Nutcracker by Miami City Ballet, the upcoming Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center (Dance at The Music Center) season is the most fearless and dynamic to date.  Center Dance Arts is the founding supporter of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center.

Shakespeare & Company announced today the addition of six new Board members to the Company's Board of Trustees. The new members joining the Board are Sandra Bourgeois, George Camarda, Phoebe L. Giddon, Beverly Hyman, Maureen O'Hanlon, and Scott Rubinow.

Shakespeare & Company has announced its Shakespeare lineup for the 2018 summer season. Under the direction of Artistic Director Allyn Burrows and Managing Director Adam Davis, the season will include three Shakespeare plays: Macbeth directed by Melia Bensussen, As You Like It directed by Allyn Burrows, and Love's Labor's Lost directed by Kelly Galvin. Season FLEXPasses go on sale this afternoon.

Shakespeare & Company is excited to announce a very successful 40th Anniversary Season. Between May and October 2017, the Company sold more tickets per performance than during any other period of its 40-year history. The full run of The Tempest, which inaugurated the newly constructed outdoor Roman Garden Theatre, was at capacity. To meet popular demand, the Company added performances to 4000 Miles, Intimate Apparel, and God of Carnage.

Shakespeare & Company adds a special benefit performance to its God of Carnage run to give back to those impacted by the recent hurricanes.

Opening night at Shakespeare & Company's production of God Of Carnage displayed the exceptional versatility and riveting acting of four of Shakespeare & Company's players, Elizabeth Aspenlieder, Allyn Burrows, Jonathan Croy, and Kristin Wold. The play is presented in Shakespeare's Elayne P. Bernstein Theatre which is the perfect intimate setting to put the audience in the middle of the carnage.

After an extensive national search, Shakespeare & Company announced today that Adam Davis, long-time Managing Director of the Los Angeles County Arts Commission and former Company Manager of the La Jolla Playhouse, has been named as the Company's new Managing Director.

Chicago, fasten your seat belts-the world premiere musical HELLDRIVERS OF DAYTONA has parked at the Royal George Theatre...and it's a bumpy, messy ride. Billed as a spoof of 1960s racing films, composer Berton Averre (known for 'My Sharona'), lyricist Rob Meurer, and book writer Mark Saltzman have developed a show that's entirely too on the nose. HELLDRIVERS lacks the satirical tone it seeks; instead, the first act replaces the sexual repression common in those 1960s movies with blatant, unoriginal sexual innuendoes and jokes in poor taste. Though conceived as an ironic take on the movies of that era, HELLDRIVERS feels overall cringe-worthy in the first act. The show shifts gears in the second act to focus more on sending up a number of great American musicals (and one Billy Joel song). The overall experience is erratic.
