The Los Angeles County Arts Commission today announced the return of culturally diverse outdoor entertainment at the Ford Theatres, following nearly two years of renovations of the historic John Anson Ford Amphitheatre and its public amenities and landscape. The 2016 Summer Season, performed under the stars in the Hollywood Hills, opens on July 8 and runs through October 15. A full schedule is attached. Syfy has commenced production on a new original unscripted series,The Internet Ruined My Life. Produced by Atomic Entertainment Group and Left/Right Productions, the six-part series will expose the unexpected perils of living in a social media obsessed world and will premiere on Syfy in early 2016.

Construction to the John Anson Ford Amphitheatre is scheduled to begin in September 2014. The construction will pre-empt the 2015 summer season.

County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky, the Signature Series concludes this summer on Saturday, August 10 at 8 p.m., when Angelenos can experience an evening of dance featuring a special appearance by Complexions Contemporary Ballet, who mark their return to Los Angeles with a mix of repertory and new works and a performance by Los Angeles' own Lula Washington Dance Theatre. Flat Rock Playhouse will soon present LES MISERABLES, featuring Broadway veteran Rob Evan as Valjean. The production, which runs July 10 through August 18, will feature direction by Vincent Marini.

To coincide with the 20-year anniversary of the Ford Partnership Program, which nurtures locally based artists and arts organizations, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission presents the inaugural Zev Yaroslavsky Signatures Series. This two-concert program benefiting the Ford Theatre Foundation pairs world-renowned performers with a local artistic treasure, celebrating Los Angeles as a destination for world-class artists, who find here both collaboration with, and inspiration from, celebrated local artists.
