AZTEC ECONOMY in association with THE TANK is pleased to announce the New York premiere of BUTCHER HOLLER HERE WE COME by Casey Wimpee, directed by Leah Bonvissuto. After premiering two years ago in the Cincinnati Fringe and performing in Baltimore, New Orleans, Dallas, Houston, Tampa, and West Palm Beach, BUTCHER HOLLER HERE WE COME will play a limited engagement at The Tank (151 W 46th St, 8th Fl, New York, NY 10036), and headline their second annual DarkFest, celebrating innovative performance that utilizes self-sufficient and alternative energy sources. Performances begin Friday, July 24 (Preview performance) and continue through Sunday, August 2, 2015. Opening Night is Saturday, July 25 (7 p.m.).

1973, West Virginia. Following a cave collapse, 5 coal miners struggle to survive the dwindling supply of oxygen, the lack of food and water, the unravelling sense of passing time, and, even more threatening, their own competing natures. Brutally weaving through family histories, complicated friendships, crooked politics, childhood visions, audacious hopes, eerie dreams, criminal addictions, and fervent spirituality in this run-of-the-mill Appalachian community, Butcher Holler Here We Come is a descent into the male psyche-in-crisis where secret desires, carnal urges, and hidden memories come boiling to the surface in a primitive territory of Earth that mirrors the subliminal mind.

Featuring Adam Belvo (ColorTVs in Tijuana - Aztec Economy), Isaac Byrne (Artistic Director 4the People, former Artistic Director Working Man's Clothes), Colt W. Keeney (My Horse's Name is Loneliness - Aztec Economy), Michael Mason (U - The Klingon Opera, Berlin), Harlan Short (The Tempest - Medicine Show Theatre Ensemble; Imaginary Invalids - Robert Moss Theatre; Member Rusty Guns Band), Adam Laten Wilson (Ship of Fools, National Diet of Japan, Alabama Goddam, Color TVs in Tijuana, Pontiac Firebird Variations, Kill Devils Kill - Aztec Economy), and Cole Wimpee (Austin Critic's Table Award, Best Supporting Actor - Holes Before Bedtime, Rubber Repertory; Kennedy Center Irene Ryan Acting Finalist).

Butcher Holler Here We Come is immersively staged with the audience surrounding the actors and the performance is lit entirely by the headlamps on the performers heads. With sound design by Ryan Dorin. Kampfire PR is the Press Agent.
