People's Light has announced that it has been awarded $60,000 by the National Endowment of the Arts to support its New Play Frontiers program. New Play Frontiers (NPF) is an initiative to conceive, develop, and produce new plays that explore our American identity through stories of deep meaning to specific populations in our region of southeastern PA. Central to this effort are partnerships with local cultural, civic, religious, and academic organizations to help identify individuals and events from the past and present that are significant to our neighbors and embody a broader American story.

Syfy today announced that it has acquired the unscripted series Troy: Street Magic, featuring one of England's hottest young magicians. Troy Street Magic will premiere Tuesday, January 13 at 10PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.

On Sunday, September 21 from 12 to 5 pm, People's Light will host our First Annual Family Fun Day in celebration of the 40th Anniversary Season. This is a free community event for all ages, featuring family games, interactive play, artisan vendors, live performances, food vendors and more. Family Fun Day will be held rain or shine at People's Light, located at 39 Conestoga Road, Malvern, PA 19355. Free, on-site parking will be available.

It's the summer of 1776, and the nation is ready to declare independence...if only our founding fathers can agree to do it! 1776 follows John Adams of Massachusetts, Benjamin Franklin of Pennsylvania, and Richard Henry Lee and Thomas Jefferson of Virginia as they attempt to convince the members of the second Continental Congress to vote for independence from the shackles of the British monarchy by signing the Declaration of Independence.

One of the best things about researching John Adams is that he is one of the most documented men in American history, mainly due to his extensive journaling, and the preservation of his personal correspondence by the succeeding generations of the Adams family. These extraordinary documents offer a window into the mind and heart of this impassioned patriot. And fortunately for us all, they are lovingly preserved by the Massachusetts Historical Society.

The winners for the twelfth annual Cortland Repertory Theatre 'Pavilion Awards' were announced on Monday, June 9, at the national historic Little York Pavilion, home to CRT.
