McLean Community Players to Stage Tony-Winning Musical 1776

?The McLean Community Players' production of the musical 1776, based on the events surrounding the drafting and signing of the Declaration of Independence, opens Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, and runs weekends through Feb. 21 at McLean's Alden Theatre. With music by Sherman Edwards and a book by Peter Stone, 1776 became an improbable hit and won three Tony Awards, including Best Musical in 1969. Director Annie O'Neill Galvin leads an award-winning cast and crew for this production.

The lighthearted musical has a six-week run starting tonight, Sept. 9, through Oct. 18. 'Nunsense' received the Outer Critics Circle Awards for Best Musical, Best Book, Best Music and Best Off-Broadway Musical.

Cortland Repertory Theatre's third production in their 44th annual summer season is the regional theatre premiere of the 'creepy, kooky and all together ookie' musical 'The Addams Family', based on the iconic characters of TV, movies, and New Yorker cartoons drawn by Charles Addams. A recent show on Broadway, this new musical has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa.
