National Dance Institute presented Jacques' Art Nest, its biannual benefit performance, at its Jacques d'Amboise Center for Learning & the Arts in Harlem.

There's just one month left to vote for the 2018 BroadwayWorld Detroit Awards, brought to you by BroadwayHD! Nominations were reader-submitted and now our readers are already setting records as they vote for their favorites. Regional productions, touring shows, and more are all included in the awards, honoring productions which opened between October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018. Our local editors set the categories, our readers submitted their nominees, and now you get to vote for your favorites! Voting will continue through December 31st, 2018.

The Croswell Opera House's production of MAMMA MIA! opened on June 15 and continues weekends through July 1, with 8 p.m. performances on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:30 p.m. performances on Saturdays and Sundays. Remaining dates are nearly sold out.

A cast of 18 students from nine high schools in three counties opened GODSPELL at the Croswell Opera House on Jan. 27. The show, which takes the 1970s musical and updates it with modern references and settings, is directed by Michael Yuen, a local educator who played John the Baptist and Judas in the 2000-2001 national tour of the show. According to Yuen, updating the show to the time in which it is being performed is in step with how the authors meant for it to evolve.

Students from nine area high schools will perform the classic musical GODSPELL beginning Jan. 27 at the Croswell Opera House in Adrian.
