Following its success last season with Crime Scene: A Chicago Anthology, Collaboraction is employing the same provocative, docudrama style to attack cancer, its treatment and the way we live with This is Not a Cure for Cancer, a world premiere live theater experience by Collaboraction Artistic Director Anthony Moseley and Sarah Illiatovitch-Goldman. Schedule your appointment with This is Not a Cure for Cancer today. Performances run now through March 30, 2014. Ruckus Theater to Stage THE DEER, 4/11-5/11

The Ruckus Theater follows up its Jeff-Recommended productions of Heist Play and Facing Angela with the world premiere of The Deer, starting April 11 at Collaboraction (Flat Iron Arts Building, 1579 N. Milwaukee) in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. The Deer marks the third partnership between playwright Brooke Allen and director Eric Hoff; the pair collaborated on The Life and Death of Madam Barker, which premiered to great acclaim at Red Tape Theatre in 2013. The cast of six includes Mike Tepeli as The Deer (Great Expectations, Strawdog Theatre; The Burnt Part Boys, Griffin Theatre Company); Bryan Bosque (Harry & the Thief, Pavement Group; The Skriker, Red Tape Theatre); Julie Cowden (Facing Angela, The Ruckus; All Girl Frankenstein, The Mammals); Ruckus Associate Artistic Director Joshua Davis (Heist Play, The Ruckus; Lear, Red Tape Theatre); Matthew Lloyd, (The Lives of Pigeons, the side project); and Cheryl Snodgrass (Hell in a Handbag).

TNC to Present World Premiere of Eduardo Machado's WORSHIP, 3/15-4/13

Theater for the New City, the community cultural center that produces over thirty premieres of new American plays each year, is pleased to announce the return of acclaimed playwright Eduardo Machado with the world premiere of his new play Worship, directed by Michael Domitrovich. Worship will begin previews Saturday, March 15th at 8 PM, with Opening Night set for Saturday, March 22nd at 8PM at Theater for the New City (155 First Avenue, between 9th and 10th Streets). This limited engagement continues through April 13th.

Full Cast of Bay City Players' HARVEY Announced; Show Runs 3/14-23

Bay City Players announces the cast for the comedy, "Harvey" by Mary Chase. The cast will feature John Tanner (Elwood Dowd), Sarah Greene (Veta), Jordan Finn (Sanderson), Mike Olk (Dr. Chumley), Jeff Molby (Judge Gaffney), Rachel Farley (Nurse Kelly), Shannon Bargeron (Myrtle Mae), Tim Barnes (Wilson), Peggy Anderson (Betty), Lori Tomkinson (Mrs. Chauvenet), Melissa Tomkinson (Miss Johnson), and Greg Burke (Cab Driver). Pam Barnes and Judy Harper are directing the production and Susan Ross is the producer.
