Palo Alto Players, the Peninsula's first theatre company, continues its 86th season with one of the most powerful stories of the 20th century, The Diary of Anne Frank, adapted by Wendy Kesselman from the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hackett, based on the personal memoirs of Anne Frank. A timeless testament to the human spirit that resonates through generations, The Diary of Anne Frank plays November 4-20, 2016 at the Lucie Stern Theater, 1305 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto, and is directed by Dennis Lickteig, with Roneet Aliza Rahamim of Palo Alto in the title role.

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 47th season with the regional premiere of a wry romantic comedy Outside Mullingar.

It's a topsy-turvy world where it seems every one is shouting, pointing fingers, skirting scandal or spewing venom. Acclaimed singer Craig Jessup, on the other hand, is taking a chance on love with some of the greatest songwriters from the Great American Songbook - Rodgers and Hart, the Gershwins, Burton Lane, Vernon Duke.

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) begins its 2016-17 season with the Diamond Anniversary production of the beloved musical My Fair Lady, based on Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, and music by Frederick Loewe.

Griffin Theatre Company is pleased to announce its 29th Season, featuring three productions exploring the American Dream. The 2016-17 season kicks off this fall with a rare revival of Maxwell Anderson's 1930s drama WINTERSET, directed by Ensemble Member Jonathan Berry (Pocatello, Balm in Gilead). The season continues next spring with the world premiere of IN TO AMERICA, a 400-year journey through the immigrant experience written by Artistic Director Bill Massolia (Letters Home) and directed by Dorothy Milne. The Breadbox presents the World Premiere of THE AWAKENING, adapted for the stage by Oren Stevens and developed with Ariel Craft, based on Kate Chopin's revolutionary novel. The Breadbox Artistic Director Ariel Craft (The Pillowman, Blood Wedding, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore) helms this stunning production, breathing new life into Chopin's feminist masterwork. THE AWAKENING plays July 29 through August 20 (press opening: July 30) at EXIT Theatre (156 Eddy St.) in San Francisco. 42nd Street Moon concludes its 23rd season with Frank Loesser's glorious Napa Valley romance, the Tony Award-winning THE MOST HAPPY FELLA, tonight, April 27, through May 15, 2016.

42nd Street Moon concludes its 23rd season with Frank Loesser's glorious Napa Valley romance, the Tony Award-winning THE MOST HAPPY FELLA. This masterpiece with book, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business …, Where's Charley?) is an unconventional and sweepingly romantic love story set in the vineyards of Napa Valley. Considered one of Loesser's greatest works, the stunning score includes "The Most Happy Fella," "Standing on the Corner," "Joey, Joey, Joey," "Rosabella," "Big D," "My Heart Is So Full of You" and "Song of a Summer Night." Directed by Cindy Goldfield, with musical direction by Dave Dobrusky, THE MOST HAPPY FELLA will run April 27 - May 17, 2016 (Press opening: Saturday, April 30) at the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street, San Francisco.
