Contra Costa Civic Theatre to Open 2016-17 Season with MY FAIR LADY

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) begins its 2016-17 season with the Diamond Anniversary production of the beloved musical My Fair Lady, based on Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw, with book and lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, and music by Frederick Loewe.

The Breadbox Theatre to Stage World Premiere of THE AWAKENING This Summer

The Breadbox presents the World Premiere of THE AWAKENING, adapted for the stage by Oren Stevens and developed with Ariel Craft, based on Kate Chopin's revolutionary novel. The Breadbox Artistic Director Ariel Craft (The Pillowman, Blood Wedding, 'Tis Pity She's a Whore) helms this stunning production, breathing new life into Chopin's feminist masterwork. THE AWAKENING plays July 29 through August 20 (press opening: July 30) at EXIT Theatre (156 Eddy St.) in San Francisco. Central Works to Present World Premiere of Patricia Milton's HEARTS OF PALM in July

Central Works (CW) presents the world premiere of Patricia Milton's latest political comedy Hearts of Palm, opening with a press night July 16th (previews July 14th &15th), and running through August 14 at the historic Berkeley City Club. Unrequited Love meets Unregulated Capitalism in Milton's very funny new play Hearts of Palm, developed in the Central Works Writers Workshop.  A multi-award winning playwright, Patricia Milton's hit Enemies: Foreign and Domestic, wan produced by Central Works in 2015 and awarded  "Outstanding World Premiere" by Theatre Bay Area (TBA) when judged against all Bay Area theater companies.

New, Swashbuckling Adaptation of CYRANO to Play TheatreWorks This Spring

TheatreWorks Silicon Valley continues its 2015/2016 season with the Regional Premiere of the dazzling romance, CYRANO, a new sprightly adaptation by Michael Hollinger (Opus) and Aaron Posner (My Name is Asher Lev, The Chosen) of Edmond Rostand's classic Cyrano de Bergerac.

42nd Street Moon to Conclude 23rd Season with THE MOST HAPPY FELLA

42nd Street Moon concludes its 23rd season with Frank Loesser's glorious Napa Valley romance, the Tony Award-winning THE MOST HAPPY FELLA. This masterpiece with book, music and lyrics by Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls, How to Succeed in Business …, Where's Charley?) is an unconventional and sweepingly romantic love story set in the vineyards of Napa Valley. Considered one of Loesser's greatest works, the stunning score includes "The Most Happy Fella," "Standing on the Corner," "Joey, Joey, Joey," "Rosabella," "Big D," "My Heart Is So Full of You" and "Song of a Summer Night." Directed by Cindy Goldfield, with musical direction by Dave Dobrusky, THE MOST HAPPY FELLA will run April 27 - May 17, 2016 (Press opening: Saturday, April 30) at the Eureka Theatre, 215 Jackson Street, San Francisco. Aurora Theatre Company to Present THE HEIR APPARENT, 4/15-5/15

Master playwright David Ives (Venus in Fur, All in the Timing) reinvigorates Jean-Francois Regnard's 1708 comedy about greed, love, and intrigue in Aurora's Bay Area Premiere of THE HEIR APPARENT. Josh Costello (Detroit, Wittenberg) helms THE HEIR APPARENT, featuring Julian Lopez-Morillas, Kenny Toll, Patrick Kelly Jones, Elizabeth Carter, Lawrence Radecker, Khalia Davis, and Katie Rubin. THE ADDAMS FAMILY Opens 3/26 at Berkeley Playhouse

 Berkeley Playhouse at the historic Julia Morgan Theater continues their most acclaimed season yet, with The Addams Family. The show isdirected and choreographed by long time Berkeley Playhouse associate Kimberly Dooley (Berkeley Playhouse's Mary Poppins, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Wiz, Suessical the Musical.). Previews begin March 24. The show runs from March 26 to April 17 at the Julia Morgan Theater, 2640 College Ave in Berkeley, CA. Tickets are now available through the Box Office. Sonoma Arts Live Launches New Winter Series with LOVE, LOSS AND WHAT I WORE Tonight

Sonoma Arts Live announces a winter theater series beginning in January of 2016. In addition, for the first time since its beginnings in 2010 as the Sonoma Theater Alliance, the organization will become a theater company, acting as producer for all its shows, which are presented on the Rotary Stage in Andrews Hall.
