On the eve of the 50th anniversary of Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT), Yuval Sharon has been announced as the first-ever Gary L. Wasserman Artistic Director. Sharon's five-year appointment is made possible by a generous gift from Gary L. Wasserman, a member of the MOT Board of Directors.

Michigan Opera Theatre (MOT) announced today the election of Ethan Davidson as Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees. Davidson succeeds Rick Williams, who has served as Chairman for the past 17 years. Williams announced earlier this year that he would not stand for re-election. The transition, which will include a restructuring of the board, will take effect at the upcoming Annual Meeting Nov. 14.

He succeeds David DiChiera who founded MOT in 1971 and has served as General Director of the theatre since its inception. Dr. DiChiera will remain as Artistic Director.
