The Classical Theatre of Harlem (Ty Jones, Producing Artistic Director) presents "Antigone," inspired by Paul Roche's adaptation from the classic Greek tragedy by Sophocles. Back for its sixth season of free theater performances and affectionately known as the Uptown Shakespeare in the Park, the Classical Theatre of Harlem (CTH) is thrilled to return to Marcus Garvey Park this summer, presenting a work that showcases the strength and voices of audacious women responding to rigid societal inequities.

Daniel, the sixth production of its 26th season performing February 25 to April 8 (Press Opening March 3). Next week, TheatreSquared will open the award-winning, poignant, and uplifting new American drama Intimate Apparel, winner of five national awards for Best Play. This turn-of-the-century story about the empowerment of Esther, an African American seamstress who sews brilliantly intricate "intimates" for high society and red-light women alike, was written by Pulitzer Prize and MacArthur "genius" grant recipient Lynn Nottage. Shana Gold (Rapture Blister Burn, Proof) directs a professional cast hailing from Northwest Arkansas, Chicago and New York.
