The Broadway Education Alliance just presented The Roger Rees Awards for Excellence in Student Performance (formerly the Gershwin Awards), yesterday The Beacon High School in Manhattan. This annual talent showcase featured 44 students representing 26 New York City metro area high schools competing for the coveted title of Best Actress and Best Actor in a musical.

All the way from the "Great White Way", the talented theater professionals of Camp Broadway are making their way to the Alamo City. Las Casas Foundation, known for its dedication to supporting the performing arts through education, is once again setting the stage for young aspiring performers and helping them pursue their dreams by bringing Camp Broadway, a summer camp for aspiring artists and theater fans to San Antonio, August 4-8.

"Shrek: The Musical" opens Friday Sept. 13 and continues Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays through Oct. 5 @ 7:30pm at the SCERA Center for the Arts, 745 S. State St., Orem. Reserved seat tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for children (age 3-11), seniors (65+) and students (w/ID).
