Opening Night for Virginia Stage Company's Season 40 opening production Always…Patsy Cline will take place on Wednesday, September 19 at 7:30pm, with a preview performance on Tuesday, September 18. Written by Ted Swindley and directed by Amy Jones, who also directed the Season 39 hit musical Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash, this production returns to Virginia Stage Company nearly 20 years later.

Virginia Stage Company runs the hit gospel musical Crowns. Written by Regina Taylor and directed by Raelle Myrick-Hodges, this production returns after breaking box office records in 2006. "There is something about Crowns that warms the soul" (Chicago Tribune), and there is no better production to close the Stage Company's 39th season.

When Virginia Stage Company's annual tradition, A Christmas Carol, returns to the Wells Theatre this holiday season, it will have a brand new look. For the first time in more than five years there will be a new script, sets, costumes, music, and yes, even a new Scrooge!
