The Philip K. Dick European Science Fiction Film Festival has announced the earliest submissions of films and shorts to be screened at its first international event which will honor one of the most respected writers within the literary world. The three-day experience will mark the first of many worldwide gatherings in the beautiful and historic Lille, France from October 25-27, 2013 at the famous L'Hybride Cinema venue. The films which are adapted or inspired from the works of Philip K. Dick will entertain and enthrall the innumerable fans who have continued to honor his enduring legacy within the genre of science-fiction.
The Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival is the city's first event of its kind celebrating the genre. The organizers behind the event which takes place in Brooklyn from from December 7-9, 2012 are excited to preview the award-winning films before their anticipated screenings. From the minds of talented filmmakers the festival brings forth the wisdom of worlds unlike anything seen before and showcase the possibilities of what science fiction offers.
Amas Musical Theatre, in association with Scandobean Productions, LLC, presents a new musical with book, music and lyrics by David Rossmer and Steve Rosen entitled The Other Josh Cohen. It is directed by Tony Award-winning Ted Sperling, with choreography by Andrew Palermo and musical direction by Vadim Feichtner. A number of celebrities have stopped by the show, from bestselling author Jonathan Tropper to Charles Osgood to Jason Kravits. Check out photos of them with the cast below!
Yesterday, February 15, Yellow Sound Label released the debut CD of acclaimed Broadway's Christopher Jackson on iTunes, Amazon.com and other online outlets. The album hits stores on March 19. In the Name of Love is a new album of soulful and melodic contemporary R&B written and co-produced by Jackson. In honor of the online release yesterday, Jackson was joined by Lin-Manuel Miranda and other In The Heights alum at The Canal Room for a special concert.
He was also joined by special guests Arthur and the Geniuses. Jackson co-produced the album with Michael Murphy, Bill Sherman and Michael Croiter.
The cast of IN THE HEIGHTS came together to celebrate Corbin Bleu's official opening in the show with a party on Tuesday, February 23rd at Angus McIndoe.
