In a celebration of independent theater, a collective of Philadelphia's most imaginative theater-makers bring audiences a double feature of The Jaws Project and The It Girl at Plays and the Players Theater. Premiering in Philadelphia's 2016 season, both pieces explored the stories behind cinematic juggernauts, Jaws and Clara Bow. Back by popular demand, these darkly comic pieces will open on July 4th at 3pm, followed by performances on July 5th, 6th, and 7th at 8pm.

Curio Theatre Company continues its 12th Season with a production of Samuel Beckett's modern classic, Waiting for Godot. This play runs February 8-March 4. Opening Night is Friday, February 10 at 8 p.m. All shows are at Curio Theatre Company's Mainstage at the Calvary Center for Culture and Community, 4740 Baltimore Ave. 

Philadelphia Theatre Company announces a one-week-only extension of Rizzo by Bruce Graham through Sunday, October 23.  Currently running at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets) and directed by Joe Canuso in a re-mounting of Theatre Exile's sold-out production last fall, the ensemble cast features Scott Greer as Frank Rizzo with Damon Bonetti, Paul L. Nolan, Robert DaPonte, William Rahill, Amanda Schoonover, and Steven Wright.  The extra week includes performances on Tuesday at 6:30 PM,Wednesday at 7:00 PM, Thursday through Today at 8:00 PM and matinees today at 2:00 PM and Sunday at 3:00 PM. 

Philadelphia Theatre Company will host several special post-play discussions in connection with its staging of the Theatre Exile production of Rizzo by Bruce Graham, currently running through October 23 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets) - an American Playwrights in Context (APIC) discussion on September 30; a panel of political experts on October 4, a pro-football night on October 6 and a panel on Frank Rizzo's legacy on October 14.

Curio Theatre Company continues its 11th Season with their take on Arthur Miller's classic exploration of the American Dream, Death of a Salesman. This production is directed by Dan Hodge. The show runs February 4-March 5. Opening Night is Friday, February 12 at 8 p.m. Curio shows typically run on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday at 8 p.m. schedule. Tickets cost $15-$25 per person. Ideologies clash. Boundaries are crossed. Exactly how far will we go in the struggle for the upper hand? Theatre Exile begins their 19th season by searching for the moral center with the world premiere of Rizzo, by award-winning playwright and South Philadelphia resident Bruce Graham.

The 2015-16 season at Hedgerow promises hilarity, chills, thrills, suspense, intrigue, mystery and a holiday tradition, with a schedule that includes the comic detective spoof Bullshot Crummond, the Gothic horror of Dracula, the 23rd annual A Christmas Carol, the amazing true story of British spy turned playwright Aphra Behn in Or, the world premiere of Agatha Christie's Mysterious Affair at Styles, and the classic Italian comedy The Servant of Two Masters.

Broad Street). This long-submerged theatrical treasure rides the waves with dashing heroes, treacherous villains, plucky heroines and love on the high seas. Charlotte Northeast directs a well-known cast lead by Barrymore Award winner Rachel Camp as Bess, the Fair Maid of the West who will stop at nothing to be with Adam Altman's Spencer. There's love, danger and enough buffoonery to warm any heart.

This one-of-a-kind theater piece is being created by and under the direction of EgoPo's, Brenna Geffers. This is the second installment of EgoPo's season long American Vaudeville Festival and will be presented as part of the 2013 Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts. Houdini will be performed on the mainstage at Plays and Players Theater. Press opening will be Friday, March 29th and the show will run until April 7th.

Theatre Exile will present the third show of their 16th season with the Philadelphia premiere of The North Plan by Jason Wells. Directed by Exile's own Joe Canuso, of South Philadelphia, and featuring veteran Philadelphia actors Madi Distefano, Dan Hodge, Robert DaPonte, Aimé Donna Kelly, Carl Granieri and Mark Cairns. The North Plan will run from February 13 to March 3, with the official press opening on February 16 at 8pm.

New City Stage Company has announced the second show of its 2012-13 season, the Philadelphia premiere of Mrs. Bob Cratchit's Wild Christmas Binge, written by Christopher Durang and directed by Michael K. Brophy.
