TUTS Underground, in association with Third Coast Creative, presents LMNOP - A New Muzical, April 7 - 19 in Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center. Chaos arises when letters begin to fall from a town monument and government officials ban them one by one. The community depends on the strength of a determined teenage girl to fight for their freedom of speech. This unique musical is part romance, part clever word game and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe.

The story focuses on two All-American and clean cut high school sweethearts Jimmy (Sean McGee) and Mary Lane (Taylor Beyer). They want to grow up together, have babies, lots of friends and end up happily ever after like their favorite couple “Romeo and Juliet” (a story in which they don't know the horrible ending). Well much like their favorite couple, they are pulled apart and struggle against the odds of being together. Jimmy, under the pretense that he's getting some jazz dance lessons, gets sucked into the lair of a reefer den and after one puff of what they have to offer; he becomes hooked and quickly abandons everything he knows. His fall from grace into a world of debauchery and sexual promiscuity brings on the mayhem as he struggles to choose between the hypnotizing Mary Jane, and his sweetheart Mary Lane.

Mary Jane and friends are coming to town! TUTS Underground is taking you on a hilarious, psychedelic journey through Reefer Madness, Sept. 25 - Oct. 5 in Zilkha Hall at The Hobby Center. Inspired by the classic 1936 anti-marijuana propaganda film, this tongue-in-cheek musical follows the hysterical downward spiral that arises when a group of clean-cut kids fall prey to the dreaded marijuana, and we're here to tell you who those crazy kids are.

Cymbeline is well worth a trip-though you'll have to decide for yourself whether that trip is down the tree-lined path at Rock Ledge Ranch, or within a smoke-hazed mind. This play, in the end, is mostly what you make of it.

A father goes on an errand to the laundromat, with his pre-verbal daughter in tow. The laundry gets put into the machine but alas, so does the daughter's beloved stuffed bunny. Unable to communicate the loss, the child throws a tantrum, frustrating her father until they get home and mom identifies the crisis. The family races back to the laundromat and fish bunny from the suds. Dad is relieved, the little girl says her first words, and everybody's happy.

The stage may be unconventional-and uncomfortable-but Theatreworks' new interpretation of Everyman is worth the trip.

We all know death can strike any place any time, often coming as a most unwelcome surprise. In the greatest play of the Middle Ages, Death comes to Everyman when he's least expecting it, and tells him to get ready for the trip of his life. 600 years later Death is still coming to every man, and in the THEATREWORKS revival of the play, Everyman will get his bad news on a city bus leaving from downtown Colorado Springs. He won't be travelling alone: 35 audience members will be joining him for the ride of his lifetime. Everyman on a Bus plays Wednesdays through Sundays, February 21-March 17, with two performances each night.

On Oct 18, the Arvada Center opens the children's theater production How I Became a Pirate, book, music and lyrics by Janet Yates Vogt and Mark Friedman, directed by David and Julie Payne. The stage production is based on the book, How I Became a Pirate written by Melinda Long and illustrations by David Shannon. The show will run Oct 18 - Dec 28, 2012. Performances are 10 a.m. and noon, most Tuesdays through Fridays, select Saturdays at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. For specific show dates please check our website. How I Became a Pirate is recommended for ages four and up. Ticket prices range from $8 weekdays and $10 weekends and holidays for reserved seating. The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities presents HAIRSPRAY, starring Jim J. Bullock. Known for his work on Broadway, Off-Broadway, LA Theater and Television, including the series Too Close for Comfort and The New Hollywood Squares, Jim previously performed the role of Wilbur Turnblad on Broadway. This time Jim takes the Arvada Center stage as the favorite 'Mother of the 50's forced into the 60's', Edna Turnblad. This fully staged regional production of Hairspray closes July 17, 2011.
