Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) announces its 2009/2010 theatre series, including the world premiere of Against the Rising Sea, featuring Tony Award-winning actress Elizabeth Franz and the development of a new musical, Opa! The Musical.

US and International Director/Choreographer Sam Viverito is directing the Queens Theatre in the Park production of OPA! the musical.

Queens Theatre in the Park (QTP) announces its 2009/2010 season of dance, theatre, classical music, film, and family programming - more than 40 events, including the world premiere of Against the Rising Sea, featuring Tony Award-winning actress Elizabeth Franz; the development of a new musical, Opa! The Musical; and the return of international superstar Eva Ayllón.

The 2nd Annual Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) Awards were held Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Bleecker Street Theatre, located at 45 Bleecker Street, winners were announced in 33 separate categories.

On Friday, September 5, at 8pm the Midtown International Theater Festival Awards will take place. The MITF Awards will honor the best shows and performances from the recently completed Ninth Annual Midtown InterNational Theatre Festival, which took place from July 14-August 10 of this year.

In the last week of its ninth annual successful smash season, the Midtown International Theatre Festival extends you one last invitation to see its Commercial Division shows with an eye on transferring to a life elsewhere after their MITF runs end on August 10!

With the coming of its ninth annual summer program of varied and eclectic works, the Midtown International Theatre Festival is proud to unveil the MITF Commercial Division, featuring shows staged with a specific eye toward a future existence, be it on Broadway, Off-Broadway, regional theatre or touring worldwide.
