This week's brand-new episode of 'THRASH 'N TREASURE' features none other than legendary 80s Pop Queen, Sinitta, joining host AW for an epic conversation about all things Mama Sin!

Boo Killebrew recounts the catastrophic impact of Hurricane Katrina on her hometown in the autobiographical The Play About My Dad. Seen in Europe for the first time at Jermyn Street Theatre, the piece is a play within a play complete with flashbacks and time travel. Albeit self-indulgent at times, Killebrew manages to keep the narrative interesting and fresh but falls short acting-wise. Directed by Stella Powell-Jones, it's well-executed but feels like it's holding its breath.

"My first supervisor was a African girl named Ann, and she had the nerve to tell me that I don't have a right to call myself African American. I had to tell that heffa just because your people sold my people doesn't mean I don't got African roots."

Rediscovered by Finborough Theatre Artistic Director Neil McPherson, Rachel is a genuinely lost landmark of American theatre -- the first play by an African American woman ever produced professionally. Directed by exciting young director Ola Ince, as part of Black History Month, the European premiere of Rachel opens at the multi award-winning Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season tonight, 30 September 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 2 October at 7.30pm).

Press night is Thursday, 31st July, 7pm.
