NJ Rep will present its first outdoor short play festival on Saturday, August 28 and Sunday, August 29 at 2pm and 5pm. The performances are free and will be held at their West End Arts Center, 132 West End Avenue, Long Branch. There is free parking in their lot off of Sairs Avenue.

Corkscrew Theater Festival, which runs July 10-August 3, inaugurates its Corkscrew Downstairs series of workshop productions this summer in the lower level theater at the Paradise Factory (64 East 4th Street, Manhattan). The four projects all take classic texts as a starting point, including A Doll's House, Twelfth Night, the poetry of Walt Whitman, and Leslie Feinberg's 1993 novel Stone Butch Blues. The Downstairs series shares one team of designers -Dan Daly (sets), Christina Tang (lights), and Cinthia Chen (props)-and one flexible repertory set, deepening the festival's focus on exploring collaboration in different forms.

The up-and-coming artists of The Brewing Dept. (TBD) are thrilled to return to Alchemical Theatre Laboratory with their new production of Shakespeare's Othello. The production will take place from November 12th to 22nd at Alchemical's innovative White Box Theatre on West 14th Street.

Reckless Theatre Group presents (un)real, a world premiere play written by Elizabeth Lee. Taylor Haven Holt directs, and the play features Andrea Lynn Green* (Primary Stages' Harrison, TX), Matthew McShane, Charlie Gorrilla and Emily Mikesell*. Assistance comes in the unlikely form of Sam, the ghost of a legendary acting teacher who inhabits her new apartment. Written and directed by Val Sherman, 'Apartment Haunting' is a love letter to the theatre and the dreams, which allow us to go forward, whatever the odds. 'Apartment Haunting' will be performed at The Jewel Box Theatre, 312 West 36th Street, 4th floor, in New York City for three performances from July 19-31, 2011.
