Mary McGloin BIO

Mary has been fortunate enough to work with some of the top theatre and industry professionals from around the world. She received her B.A. in Dramatic Arts from the University of California Santa Barbara where she studied with Barbara Bosch, Judith Olauson, James Donlon and Michael Morgan. After undergrad, Mary moved up to San Francisco and over the years worked with many Bay Area Theatres amoung them, ACT, Berkeley Rep, Theatreworks, California Shakespeare Theatre, and California Theatre Center. While working steadily in the theatre, she also ventured into the world of film and has acted in approximately 20 student and independent films as well as an episode of Investigation Discovery Channel's Extreme Forensics and an animated short Zodiac. In 2013, Mary began developing her own webseries entitled Lines & Asides. Look out for updates!

Mary believes that the actor's training is never done and has studied with Studio ACT, and teachers and coaches in the Bay Area including film acting with actor, author and teacher Ed Hooks, and voiceover training with Voice One, headed by Elaine Clark, author of There's Money Where your Mouth Is. She spent a summer with the Moscow Art Theatre School USA, where she worked with Andrey Droznin and Alla Pokrovskaya, one of Russia's greatest stage actresses. Most recently, she went back to graduate school to get her M.F.A. in Classical Acting from The Shakespeare Theatre's Academy for Classical Acting at The George Washington University, where she studied with the legendary Michael Kahn and voice and speech guru, Gary Logan, author of The Eloquent Shakespeare. She continues training while working in NYC with many industry professionals at One on One, The Network and ESPA Primary Stages.
