This Friday, Jefferson Performing Arts Society ends its state mandated suspension of musicals with a production of the beloved ogre fairytale Shrek The Musical Jr., featuring a cast of 48 area youth.

Jefferson Performing Arts Society presents the musical Annie at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center. With the book and score by Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse, and Martin Charnin, Annie features such memorable songs as 'It's the Hard Knock Life', Easy Street', 'I Don't Need Anything But You' and 'Tomorrow'.

The Jefferson Performing Arts Society floored the judges at the National Performing Arts Festival in Orlando over the weekend with their pitch-perfect performance of 'Shrek the Musical,' winning the Judges' Choice award and earning the chance to perform for the Disney public at large Sunday evening.

The Award-Winning JPAS Theatre Kids! Competition Team * is seeking talented young singers/dancers in grades 2-12 to join them in competing at the 2012 iTheatrics Musical Theatre Festival.

Recently, five JPAS Theatre Kids! returned from New York where they were part of a national cast of MTI Junior choreography videos which will be used in thousands of schools and performing arts centers across the country.

Teacher Experience (named for Music Theatre International's CEO and Chairman Freddie Gershon who, with his wife Myrna, underwrote the awards and weekend) was a weekend devoted exclusively to professional development for theatrical educators held on July 15th- 17th 2011 in New York City.

Eight exceptional educators from schools and performing arts centers around the country will work one-on-one with Broadway greats including Kimberly Grigsby, Warren Carlyle, Benj Pasek and Justin Paul at the 2nd Annual BROADWAY WELCOMES AMERICA'S TEACHERS AT THE FREDDIE G THEATRE EXPERIENCE July 15th-17th in New York. Again this year's event has been underwritten by Freddie ('G') Gershon, Chairman and CEO of leading theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) and his wife Myrna Gershon. The weekend honors instructors and teachers who are working to make a difference for their students and communities through the process of staging musical theatre productions in their schools and educational theatre groups.
