Overjoyed to fill in the roles of Baroness Elsa von Schraeder and Rolf, TV-theater actors Karylle Tatlonghari and Markki Stroem have been announced to join the latest international tour of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s 'The Sound of Music,' produced by the Broadway International Group and Broadway Asia, and directed by three-time Tony awardee Jack O’Brien.

Now in its fourteenth year, FRIGID is an open and uncensored theatre festival that gives artists an opportunity to let their ingenuity thrive in a venue that values freedom of expression and artistic determination. In true support of our Indie Theater Community, 100% of box office proceeds will go directly to the artists whose work is being presented. FRIGID is here to chill out the New York independent theatre scene's ideas of what a theatre festival can be!

Lauren O'Brien's poetic solo work, Jaxx & Lolo - A Friendship Show, will be presented in February and March at FRIGID Fest. The show is inspired by the author's real-life outsider friendship with punk-poet, Jackie Sheeler.

Host Mario Batali and attendees Gloria and Emilio Estefan, Karolina Kurkova, and more created a one-of-a-king evening, merging theater and the culinary arts in support of healthy, equitable food access and youth-led food justice. For awhile now, we have been receiving press materials and hearing about The Broadway Dreams Foundation (BDF), but never witnessed the group first-hand. Well, that all changed this past Saturday night, in Philadelphia, when we decided to go to the Kimmel Center and see the 2011 Summer-Intensive weekend showcase, this year titled TRUE COLORS. I can honestly say that our jaws dropped. Directed and hosted by the newest addition to their impressive faculty line-up, Richard Jay-Alexander, the evening was like watching a skillfull PLAYLIST of Broadway 'gold' and 'showstoppers.' Two ACTS worth!
