WEST SIDE STORY Cast Comes To Broadway Sessions


BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway cast twice monthly. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida, Footloose, Dance Captain Dance Attack web series) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. This Thursday night, March 12th, Broadway Sessions will welcome cast members from West Side Story!

Drag Star Strawberry Fields To Make Her Green Room 42 Debut In STRAWBERRY FIELDS: DEDICATIONS


Strawberry Fields will be making her Green Room 42 debut on August 29th, 2019 in her first ever, all live singing cabaret, Strawberry Fields: Dedications. The winner of The Metropolitan Room's 2015 New York's Next Top Drag Queen competition and top five finalist in season 6 of So You Think You Can Drag, Strawberry plans to take the audience on a magical journey through the show biz experience with a little help from her musical guests, Katelyn Baron and Rebecca Graae, as well as esteemed musical director Mark Hartman. Featuring a selection of show tunes and standards, as well as stories and anecdotes from experiences as a New York City drag queen, Strawberry Fields cannot wait to finally make the leap to her own show.

KC Rep's A CHRISTMAS CAROL Begins 11/20


Kansas City Repertory Theatre continues its 2015-16 season with the beloved holiday classic, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted for the stage by Barbara Fields and directed by Kansas City Repertory Theatre's Producing Director Jerry Genochio. Performances run November 20 through December 24 at the NEWLY RENOVATED Spencer Theatre. Kansas City's favorite holiday tradition is back for its 35th season, and the magnificent new Spencer Theatre promises an experience that's more magical than ever. Come share the joy of the holiday season, as our theatre transforms into a page right out of the classic tale by Charles Dickens. Richly textured sets, ornate costumes and spectacular special effects will transport the entire family into the tale of the grumpy Ebenezer Scrooge, who requires the intervention of a few ghostly guides to find the true meaning of Christmas - and life itself. BWW Review: THE ADDAMS FAMILY A NEW MUSICAL is Creepy Funny at the New Theatre in Overland Park


All things ghoulish, macabre, ghastly, and a little bit frightening are alive and well living within the walls of the Addams Family home. The only place to see this outrageous musical comedy is at the New Theatre in Overland Park. Richard Carrothers directs The Addams Family a New Musical running through September 20 at the dinner theater. Daniel Doss provides musical direction and Katelin Zelon the choreography for the delightful yet maybe a little bizarre musical.

BWW Reviews: VIOLET- Music and Drama at its Best at Spinning Tree Theatre


Each time I think that the performing arts in Kansas City cannot get any better Spinning Tree Theatre opens another production and proves there is no limit to the highest quality shows available to local audiences. Opening night for Violet at the Just Off Broadway Theatre on Saturday November 8 was no exception, as some of the most talented actors in the area delighted the audience with another outstanding performance.

The Spinning Tree Theatre production of the musical Violet opens at the Off Broadway Theatre November 6. Michael Grayman and Andy Parkhurst co-direct the Kansas City premiere, which is one of the first regional theatres to secure the rights to the musical. Angie Benson provides the musical direction and leads a five-piece orchestra.

Stephen Schwartz's CHILDREN OF EDEN Receives U.S. Symphonic Premiere 7/15-24


U.S. Symphonic Premiere of CHILDREN OF EDEN plays the Kansas City Music Hall July 15-24. As a very special companion piece to the production, the producers will present an evening of the works of legendary CHILDREN OF EDEN songwriter Stephen Schwartz. This July 18th gala concert event will include musical performances from the multi-award winning author's entire body of works, including PIPPIN, GODSPELL and WICKED. The evening will feature some of Broadway's top talents, Kansas City theatre veterans and the composer himself.

Starlight Theatre Announces 2009-10 Blue Star Award Nominations


Starlight Theatre employees fanned out across the city yesterday to deliver 2010 Blue Star Award nominations to local high school theatre students and instructors. The good news of nominations in 20 Blue Star Award categories was delivered to high schools throughout the metropolitan area and outlying communities. On Thursday night, May 27, at Starlight, those nominees will find out whether they'll take home this year's top honors.
