New Hampshire Theatre Project to Open 27th Season with HOT MAMA MAHATMA


New Hampshire Theatre Project kicks off their 27th season with Hot Mama Mahatma, written and performed by Karen Fitzgerald, the actress formerly known as Karen Abrami.  Karen graced Seacoast stages for 15 years, in dozens of lead roles with some of the area's top actors, before heading south to New York City in 2004.  While there, she wrote Hot Mama Mahatma, a comedy about her post divorce adventures. The tagline? "She went to India to get enlightened but got turned on instead!" Besides playing to sold out audiences, Hot Mama Mahatma won the Producer's Award at the Midtown International Theatre Festival in Manhattan.

The New York-based composers' group, Random Access Music, presents the first Queens New Music Festival from today May 10 through May 13, 2012 at the Little Secret Theatre (Studio 104, 44-02 23rd Street, Long Island City, Queens). This 'trailblazing festival seeks to highlight and promote composers, musicians, and ensembles living and creating new music in the borough of Queens.'

Midtown International Theatre Festival Announces Short Subject Selections; Runs 7/12-8/1


The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) announced selected plays for SHORT SUBJECTS, a division for plays that run under 60 minutes. 23 plays were selected. The festival will run from July 12 - August 1, 2010. Tickets are $15-18. There are many weird and wonderful turns on the road to Enlightenment, as Natalie Kim and Karen Fitzgerald discover in their comedic and offbeat solo shows, billed collectively as Yo Hot Mama(s)! Directed by Kenneth Heaton & Matthew Hoverman, the shows will be performed at the Jewel Box Theater, located at 312 West 36th Street, as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival, beginning on July 14th.
