Stage Door Records have announced the debut CD release of the albums CAROUSEL and SING THE POPULAR MUSIC OF LEONARD BERNSTEIN on May 27th 2016. The release continues Stage Door's COLLECTOR'S SERIES, a line of limited edition CD products that celebrate Broadway shows and vocalists of the 1950s and 60s.

Neil Goldberg who created and directed CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE, wanted to create a Cirque show that was not only family-friendly, but one that could tour the country. His ideas, based partly on his own ornament collection, came to fruition with this unique holiday extravaganza. It's filled with music (some original by Jill Winters and David Scott, as well as Lance Conque and Tony Aliperti), but also a number of familiar seasonal favorites), incredible circus performers (sans animals, of course, although some performers portray different ones, like rope-skipping reindeers), and a colorful staging that's incredibly busy with movement. This eye-popping show is currently playing The Fox Theatre through December 6, 2015.

PTP/NYC's 27th anniversary season opened on July 10 at The Atlantic Stage 2. The opening night party guests included five-time Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner Jan Maxwell, Kristine Nielsen (Broadway: Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Jennifer Van Dyck (Broadway: Hedda Gabler, Dancing at Lughnasa and Two Shakespearean Actors), Quentin Mare (Broadway: Rock 'n' Roll, Coram Boy, Julius Caesar) and Stephanie Janssen (Broadway: Mrs. Warren's Profession). It may be Thanksgiving week, but Christmas is already in full swing at the Long Center. With Cirque Dreams Holidaze, the Long Center is alive with jugglers, acrobats, illusionists, dancers, and a healthy dose of Christmas cheer.

Not a Julliard grad in the bunch, but Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, though it plays at a theatre that once housed Ethel Merman, Alfred Drake and Bombay Dreams (just checking to see if you're paying attention) is not exactly aimed at the typical New York theatre audience and it certainly wouldn't be fair to review it as such. But that's not to say it isn't extremely entertaining and a perfectly fun bit of summer diversion. Kinda like Tarzan, the Musical without the book, music and lyrics.
