HERE (Kristin Marting, Founding Artistic Director, and Kim Whitener, Executive Director) is proud to announce its 2018-2019 season, which marks the OBIE-winning institution's 26th year of producing of daring new hybrid performance by new artists from all disciplines - theatre, music, art, dance, puppetry, and media art.

The Ballard Institute and Museum of Puppetry at the University of Connecticut is currently featuring ground-breaking modernist performance sculptures first designed by famed Connecticut sculptor Alexander Calder for the 1936 production of Socrate at Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum, as part of its current exhibition, American Puppet Modernism: The Early 20th Century, on display Tuesday-Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., now through July 1 at the Ballard Institute, located at 1 Royce Circle in Downtown Storrs. The sculptures were reconstructed with Calder's approval for a 1976 performance of Socrate produced by conductor Joel Thome, the director of the Orchestra of Our Time, as part of the National Tribute to Alexander Calder in New York City.

On Friday (9/22), New York City funk meets jam-band--GRIDLINE--released their debut full-length album, Soul Brew. Through an intent to record everything live to tape, GRIDLINE's Soul Brew recreates the essence of a live band; a sound they honed through countless late night sets performing at after-hours clubs around New York City.

Composer and pianist Jennifer Castellano doesn't stick to the conventional major and minor key systems of classical music.

Gloria McLean, a New York-based dancer, choreographer and teacher, is the founder and artistic director of LIFEDANCE/Gloria McLean and Dancers. From 1982-1993, Ms. McLean was a member of the Erick Hawkins Dance Company, performing in New York, the U.S., and internationally. She is considered one of the leading exponents of this American Modern Dance tradition.
