BWW Review: YANK! - O MUSICAL at Teatro Dos Quatro proves all's fair in love and war

Yank! is a love letter to the musicals of the 1940's. The musical brings passion and violence to the stage while telling the story of two World War II soldiers who fall in love in a difficult period of human history.

In this week's special edition, we caught up with playwrights from Ensemble Studio Theatre's Marathon of One-Act Plays. Ensemble Studio Theatre and Radio Drama Network announced today the lineup for the 36th MARATHON OF ONE-ACT PLAYS, the biennial festival series of brand new plays from emerging playwrights.

Jennifer Leigh Green (Broadway's Wicked, Bare, TV's Sabrina the Teenage Witch) and Josh Tolle (NYMF's Searching for Romeo) will join Broadway and Off-Broadway talent in BROADWAY'S EPIC FAIL, a two night-concert to bring you more songs from movies that should never be musicals. The evenings will be hosted by Jen Eden.

Following a hit run at this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival, BROADWAY'S EPIC FAIL is returning by popular demand to the NYC stage.

After a successful run at the New York Musical Theatre Festival earlier this summer, BROADWAY'S EPIC FAIL is back as a two night-concert to bring you more songs from movies that should never be musicals. BROADWAY'S EPIC FAIL will return on September 7th at 6pm & 8th at 9:30pm at Sophie's NYC (318 West 53rd Street).

The York Theatre Company will welcome cast members of the original Off-Broadway production of the critically acclaimed musical, Yank!, with book & lyrics by David Zellnik and music by Joe Zellnik, to celebrate the official release of the cast recording on Monday evening, February 24 from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peter's (entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The celebration will be held on stage at The York Theatre, where Yank! received its world premiere and played a sold-out engagement in Spring 2010.

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership of Julianne Boyd Artistic Director and TriStan Wilson Managing Director, presents William Shakespeare's Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Julianne Boyd, running through August 25 at the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield.
