THE WA premiere of a musical following the lives of women in a British prison - and their relationships in a variety of traumatic circumstances - is the latest offering from Blak Yak Theatre (note to subs: no C in Blak) this winter.

?Mildred's Umbrella Theatre Company and Wordsmyth Theatre proudly present Museum of Dysfunction VIII: A SHOWCASE OF SHORTS. Now in its eighth year, this annual short play festival features new pieces by playwrights from across the nation and produced by the professional actors and designers in the Mildred's Umbrella Company. With over 200 submissions this year, only the top nineteen will be produced over two consecutive weekends. The first group of nine plays will run June 23-25 and the second group of ten will run June 30-July 2.  

Gary Naylor sees a prison musical revived in a more suitable environment by a talented ensemble cast and impressive live band.

Following a triumphant run at the West Yorkshire Playhouse last summer, the inmates of HMP Larkhall are now being sent down to London's Garrick Theatre for the West End premiere of Bad Girls - The Musical.
