Gabriel Grilli BIO

Based in NYC, Gabriel Grilli (GG) is an actor, director, writer and teacher. His career spans projects and partnerships with theatres and schools across the country and internationally for over two decades.

As the Founding Artistic Director of BrickaBrack, GG generates new, ensemble-generated multidisciplinary work, teaches workshops, and explores new theatremaking practices.

A teacher of acting, directing, movement and Viewpoints, GG has led classes at The Berridge Conservatory (France), Cambridge Prep (UK), The New School, NYU, Penn State, the School of Visual Arts; and throughout NYC and the SF Bay Area.

La MaMa Will Present the US Premiere of THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER


La MaMa in association with Concrete Temple Theatre and Playfactory Mabangzen will present the U.S. premiere of THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER, written by Renee Philippi and directed by Ms. Philippi and Eric Nightengale, with an original score by Lewis Flinn. THE WAITRESS & THE ROBBER begins performances on Thursday, April 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, April 26. Press Opening is Sunday, April 12 at 3:00 pm. 'Student Gypsy' Opens at Eureka Theater on 03/29


42nd Street Moon continues its fifteenth season of Uncommon Musicals in Concert with Alameda native Rick Besoyan's riotously funny The Student Gypsy (or 'The Prince of Liederkranz'), the 1963 follow-up to his smash-hit operetta-spoof, Little Mary Sunshine. Maureen McVerry, who made her highly-acclaimed company debut last year in Pardon My English, returns to play the role of gypsy queen Zampa Allescu. The show previews on March 27 & 28, opens on March 29 at 6 pm, and runs through April 13, with a special family matinee on Saturday April 5 @ 1 pm.
