From June 8 through August 10, Classic American Tales (CAT) presents 'Tales at the Dormer House,' formerly known as 'Tales of the Victorians' and 'Tales in the Backyard' when previously produced by East Lynne Theater Company (ELTC). Guests are treated to lemonade and tasty treats while listening to stories by American authors like O. Henry, Zora Neale Hurston, and Mark Twain.

Cape May MAC and East Lynne Theater Company present 'Ghosts of Christmas Past Trolley Rides'
Since April, East Lynne Theater Company has been presenting 'Tales at Home,' virtually, and 'Tales in the Backyard,' live, and for the holidays, its 'Yuletide Tales.'
'Here in Friendship Village, we give out time and time again that Christmas isn't going to be just shopping and just an exchange of useless gifts,' begins Calliope Marsh in Zona Gale's story 'Human,' about an unusual event at the post office, two nights before Christmas in 1910.
This tale is one of two that are part of the repertoire of the 'Ghosts of Christmas Past Trolley Rides,' co-sponsored by The Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts and Humanities (MAC) and the award-winning Equity professional East Lynne Theater Company.
'In two days it will be Christmas!' said Old Applejoy to himself. 'Can it be that my close-fisted grandson does not intend to celebrate Christmas! I've seen no preparations, heard nothing, smelt nothing. I will go this moment and investigate.'

'In two days it will be Christmas!' said Old Applejoy to himself. 'Can it be that my close-fisted grandson John does not intend to celebrate Christmas! It has been years since he has done so, but now that his niece, Bertha, is in the house, will he dare to pass over it as though it were a common day? I've seen no preparations, heard nothing, smelt nothing. I will go this moment and investigate.'

'I will go and tend my geese! I will, I will, I will!' screamed the Mayor's daughter wearing a goose-girl costume. Usually, she was a polite, pampered child, but ever since her father threw a Christmas Eve party for all of the children in the city, she behaved like the costume she was wearing. In fact, all of the children were behaving like the costumes dictated. Paupers were princes and the privileged performed farm chores.
Reprise Theatre Company will present 'The Apple Tree' with book music and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and Jerry Bock, additional book material by Jerome Coopersmith, and based on stories by Mark Twain, Frank R. Stockton, and Jules Feiffer as the third production of its 2011-2012 season, playing April 17 to 29, 2012 at the Freud Playhouse.

'When the mother looked out the window, she saw a small white figure that seemed to be human, but was made of snow. She saw her children working on it: Sam bringing fresh snow, and Violet applying it to the figure as a sculptor adds clay to a model.
