Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company Presents THE APPLE TREE, Now thru 8/3

"The Apple Tree" features three short musicals based on stories by Mark Twain, Frank R. Stockton and Jules Feiffer with each musical comedy vignette highlighting a message about moral values. The first act is based on Mark Twain's "The Diary of Adam and Eve," the second act is based on Frank R. Stockton's "The Lady or the Tiger?" and the third act is based on Jules Feiffer's "Passionella."
Directed and choreographed by Nicola Bosco-Alvarez, this full-staged production showcases 16 young adult performers of Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company performing with live music orchestration under the direction of Jess Hamel. Young People's Teen Musical Theatre Company (YPTMTC) is a teenage performing arts company sponsored by the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department and The Friends of the Company. Now in its 30th year, YPTMTC offers teens instruction in drama, voice, acting, dance and technical theater and the opportunity to experience musical theater at a professional level. YPTMTC was recently in the national news when YPTMTC alum, Lena Hall, won the 2014 Tony Award for her featured actress performance as the male character Yitzhak in the rock musical "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."
