Last week Wynonna & The Big Noise teamed up with Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead for an exciting show at the legendary San Francisco venue The Fillmore. During the set they covered many classic tracks by both acts, including “Why Not Me” by The Judd's and “Ramble On Rose” by the Dead. “Well OK, this is a train that's been steamin' down the tracks for a while now - and it finally got here. What fun,” said Bob Weir of their set.

Last Saturday night at the Rose Theater, Jazz at Lincoln Center presented a celebration on what would have been Ray Charles' 85th Birthday. The program was led by Musical Director and trumpeter Kenny Rampton (who once toured with the Ray Charles band), and included 10 longtime members of the icon's orchestra, along with the most recent “Rayettes” (backup singers Renee Georges, Katrina Harper, and Angela Workman). “Ray Charles Robinson, the genius of soul, his music was beyond genre,” Rampton told the audience. “Anything Mr. C. did from country to blues to the National Anthem was all Ray Charles . . .'

On Friday, May 9th the Wagon Wheel Theatre hosts three of country music's hit makers. In fact, Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, and the Kentucky Headhunters collectively charted over 100 Billboard Hot Country Songs, including seven number one hits and multiple Grammy and ACM awards. The event is called “An Acoustic Evening with Aaron Tippin, Collin Raye, and The Kentucky Headhunters” and all three will perform two shows, 7pm and 9:30pm.
