Son Of Semele's 5th Annual Solo Creation Festival Runs July 12-29


Son of Semele announces the nine exciting artists and solo works that will make up the 2018 edition of its popular Solo Creation Festival, performed at the Son of Semele Theater at 3301 Beverly Boulevard, from July 12 to July 29, 2018. This curated showcase for the diversity and creative potential of solo performance, founded in 2014, is a proven incubator for works that go on to be performed elsewhere in LA - including multiple festival alumni in the Hollywood Fringe - as well as in other U.S. cities and abroad.

SUNFISH Takes Top Jury Honor at Daegu International Musical Festival


SUNFISH, an American musical by the songwriting team of Michael Cooper and Hyeyoung Kim was awarded the top Jury Honor for Music Theater Production at the Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) on July 8, 2013. DIMF is the largest international Musical Theatre Festival in the world. SUNFISH was invited to open the Festival on June 17, 2013, and was one of over fifteen Official Invitational productions from all over the world. It was previously presented at the NAMT Festival, TRU Musical Series, and Disney/ASCAP Workshop with Stephen Schwartz.

'And My Name Ain't Peaches, Either' Premieres at Access Theater 9/25


Through monologues, music, poetry and dance, playwright Lisa McCree takes a 30-year snapshot of the lives of 11 women from the inner city in her provocative comedy about self-acceptance in a world of rejection, 'And My Name Ain't Peaches,' playing September 25 - October 5 at Access Theater. The piece earned a Human Rights Award for The Theatre Outlet, Allentown, PA, where it was originally produced in 2005.
