New York City Mayor Eric Adams today announced that the People's Theatre Project - an immigrant- and women-led nonprofit - will own and operate a first-of-its-kind Immigrant Research and Performing Arts Center coming to Inwood.

Royal Family Productions, a non-profit theatre company known for its innovative productions and development of new original work, will extend its acclaimed production of WOMEN ON FIRE: Stories from the Frontlines to accommodate the demand. WOMEN ON FIRE is written, curated, and directed by Royal Family artistic director Chris Henry from stories told to her by a group of anonymous women, with choreography from Lorna Ventura. The show began performances on May 11 and extended twice due to popular demand and critical and industry acclaim. WOMEN ON FIRE: will now run through June 8, 2018 at Royal Family Performing Arts Space (145 West 46th Street, 3rd Floor). Don't miss this one night only opportunity to celebrate one of Broadway's lost gems! FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents a special concert production of Oh, Brother! on Sunday, November 20, at 7:00 PM.  Original cast members Larry Marshall and Steve Sterner will be joining the fun to revive and celebrate this lost Broadway gem.

Expectations are high -- The Theater Project had previously produced CROWNS in 2010, so "In 2016, we expect to raise the roof at each and every performance in Maplewood," says artistic director Mark Spina. "The music in CROWNS makes you want to join right in - and people do!"   The production, made possible in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, begins its four-week run September 29.  

The award-winning professional company The Theater Project has received a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts to produce the musical CROWNS at its home base in Maplewood's Burgdorff Center for the Arts. Tickets, group rates and information are available at www.thetheaterproject.org.

The Broadway Artists Connection (BAC) concludes it's 2015 season with the BAC ALL STARS Benefit on Sunday, Dec. 13th (3pm) at the legendary Don't Tell Mama.  Hosted by Broadway veteran, Director, Choreographer and Founder of the New York Song & Dance Company Noah Racey, the event will be kicked off by several Broadway pros (listed below). Also featuring the top talent from the BAC open mic series, where casting Director Paul Russell of Paul Russel Casting will be crowning one the 'future of Broadway All Stars 2015.'
