BIO
CHRIS MORRISSEY has written, produced and directed several award-winning contemporary cult classic feature films that have screened theatrically and at various international film festivals during the last 20 years. Film titles include Famous Movie Star, Superstar Female Serial Killer, Lipgloss Explosion!, Stateless, Fashion Murder Groove, Hollywood Reject, Trick of the Witch and Heavy Makeup. In addition to filmmaking, Chris has acted in several independent films, television projects (Twin Peaks) and a handful of Hollywood stage plays. Chris is a native of Los Angeles and got his start at Andy Warhol's Interview Magazine and Roger Corman's Concorde Pictures before making the leap into independent films.

BWW Review: New Wave Theater Collective Takes a Stand with THE NEW SINCERITY

Written by Alena Smith and directed by Chris Morrissey, The New Sincerity brings the two-year-old New Wave Theater Collective to a very respectable height. With a cast comprised of young artists who seem to have perfectly captured this idea of adulting amidst the deceiving nature of a know-thyself creative environment, this show really makes you wonder about the state of our generation. With characters who are more enthused about helping others and reaping the benefits than they are about the condition of their own lives, The New Sincerity questions just how much truth and honesty we can handle before it becomes easier to fight for (and sometimes join) another's cause than focus on our own.

Two of Morrissey's feature films will screen, alongside several new films and shorts during the four day film festival. The festival will be held at the Vintage LOS FELIZ 3 CINEMAS and run November 10th through November 13th, 2016. In addition to film screenings, the festival will also feature Q&A panel discussions, celebrity guest appearances, filmmaker parties and a signature red carpet award ceremony.
