Dedicated to the development of performing arts through education and scholarships, Las Casas Foundation has announced its annual scholarship program historically held at the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre will culminate in an online variety show on Sunday, May 17, 6:00 PM CST.

Las Casas Foundation, in partnership with Blanchard Creative Group and Walley Films, has announce dthat 25 finalists will step into the spotlight through a digital variety show to premiere on Sunday, May 17.

We've all sat through that show... It's, like, totally unique and the songs are so obscure you probably haven't heard them before. You're there because a friend swears they knew about the performer before they were cool. But the show is Just. So. Indie.Featuring obscure instruments, luscious loops and original songs soaked in satire. See her before she totally becomes a sell out.  I mean… do you even indie?

Acorn Productions, a non-profit theater company based in the Dana Warp Mill in downtown Westbrook, presents a new work by the company's Fairy Tale Players, a group of experienced students from the company's Acorn Acting Academy.

In response to Woodhead's comments, Australian theatre star Eddie Perfect took to Facebook, saying: 'I agree with Cameron [Woodhead], and I'd add something further. There's a convenient narrative springing up online (and elsewhere) that the creator's of Kong spent five years of developmental resources on the gorilla but neglected the book, music and lyrics. Without putting it too harshly, I think that's idiotic.'

The new stage musical KING KONG just opened last night, June 15, at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne, Australia. As BroadwayWorld previously reported, the show is already casting its eye toward Broadway, with a hopeful launch as early as 2014. Let's see what the critics had to say...
