Bronwyn is a creator|performer currently based in LA. As a dancer, she trained with The Joffrey Ballet and was a summer soloist with American Ballet Theatre. As a singer, she started in opera as a child, performing in La Bohéme with Placido Domingo at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. After graduating with honors from Stanford University, the sole recipient of the Evelyn M. Draper Award for Excellence in Acting Performance, she was the only American actor to be granted the $50,000 Graduate Arts Award from Jack Kent Cooke, which allowed her to receive her Masters in Classical Acting from the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art, where she played Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, The Duchess in The Duchess of Malfi, and Cleopatra in Antony and Cleopatra. After graduation, she moved to NYC where she starred in a Red Fern reading of Trial opposite Finn Wittrock, played a three season arc as Mariska Hargitay’s beloved nanny Lucy Huston on Law & Order: SVU and was cast opposite Charlize Theron in her first film role in THE LAST FACE, directed by Sean Penn. Most recently, she starred as Baby Houseman in the B’way national tour of Dirty Dancing. She is now adding writing to her focus, currently creating multiple limited series with her partner Michael Sutherland, with whom she co-wrote her first feature, recently shortlisted for Sundance Labs in 2018.Bronwyn Reed News

The success of the awkwardly titled Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage depends primarily on whether or not you were a fan of the motion picture it was closely modeled after. It's easy to say this since the stage version is nearly identical to the film, and in many ways works better as a live production. For the uninitiated or those who steered clear of the film, Dirty Dancing was one of the most successful motion pictures of the 1980s. The low-budget film became a surprise hit, earning $214 million at the box office and becoming the first film to sell more than a million copies on home video. The soundtrack LP, featuring a combination of original songs and vintage hits from the early 1960s, sold 32 million copies and spent four months on top of the best-selling album charts. Looking at the film from today's perspective, 30 years later, one wonders why it was so big. Though many remember the film as a charming coming-of-age story, critics called it 'schmaltzy,' citing the formulaic portrayal of its stock characters spouting trite dialog.
