ON KENTUCKY AVENUE Sweeps 46th Annual Audelco Awards With Six Wins


On Nov. 19, 2018, the 46th Annual Vivian Robinson AUDELCO Recognition Awards for Excellence in Black Theatre were held at Tribeca Performing Arts Center. On Kentucky Avenue, a new original musical created by Jeree Wade and written by Adam Wade and Ty Stephens, was nominated for 10 AUDELCO Awards, taking home a total of six, the highest number of wins for the evening, including for "Best Musical."

This winter, Andrea J. Fulton's new stage play UGLY IS A HARD PILL will premiere at Theater for the New City (Executive Producer Crystal Field, TNC Artistic Director) from 12/19-1/12. Directed by Broadway veteran performer Leslie Dockery (Sophisticated Ladies, The Tap Dance Kid and Eubie!), this dark comedy featuring music and movement is set against the backdrop of heterosexual, bisexual and homosexual relationships in modern urban culture.

Signature Theatre will present the the world premiere of stop. reset., written and directed by ReGina Taylor, this fall. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access.
