First Stage has announced the retirement of Managing Director Betsy Corry, effective at the close of the 2022/23 production season.

The Dolphin Show, America's largest student-produced musical, announces TITANIC as the 73rd Annual Dolphin Show. TITANIC is to be directed by Communication senior Brendan Flynn and produced by Communication senior Jack Eidson and School of Education and Social Policy senior Izzy Garcia, with support from a cast and team of over 150 Northwestern University students. TITANIC will run for five performances from tonight, January 23rd through January 30th in Cahn Auditorium.

TURQUOISE is a disruption-of-memory play. Exploring the interconnectedness of everything through disruption, this intergenerational comedy examines seven lives across a spectrum: a couple married 71 years; a middle-aged concert pianist with a brain injury and his loving day nurse; and two 15-year-old boys trying to figure their way through a timeless set of adolescent passions.

Dixon Place presents TURQUOISE by award-winning playwright Deb Margolin. Ms. Margolin's first multi-character play in three years, TURQUOISE is an intergenerational comedy presented by an ensemble who are age 20 - 80. Directed by Charlie Polinger (Marina Keegan's Independents, Matthew George's Cow Play) and featuring music by composer Amy Reich, TURQUOISE will play a strictly-limited engagement at Dixon Place (161a Chrystie Street) - four performances only on Friday, June 13 and Saturday, June 14; and Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 (all performances at 7:30pm). Charlie Polinger directs an attempted statement on several political and pop culture icons with the story of Bertolt Brecht and Kurt Weill's The Threepenny Opera thrown in there.

To witness---and, yes, hear---Tony Award-winning legend Patti LuPone on a stage live-belting the bejesus out of a note (well, several notes, really) is just another not-so-subtle reminder for newbies and veterans alike why she's such a one-of-a-kind, ultra-talented star in the first place. She can, pretty much, take any piece of music and make it sound... well, effortlessly incredible. The results? Jaws dropped. Audible 'wows' echoed. Cheers were deafening and plentiful. That prowess was certainly in full-display on the evening of March 22, when LuPone came to Costa Mesa's Segerstrom Concert Hall for a one-night-only performance of her latest high-concept concert entitled FAR AWAY PLACES.

Horse Trade Theater Group will present Less Than Rent Theatre's (2013 Indie Theatre Now People of the Year) World Premiere of LITTLE MAC, LITTLE MAC, YOU'RE THE VERY MAN! written by Sean Patrick Monahan (Diva at the 2013 United Solo Festival) and James Presson (Words, Razors, and the Wounded Heart), April 3-27 at The Kraine Theater (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue and Bowery). The production will be directed by Charlie Polinger (Independents; 'Best Musical' 2013 FringeNYC) and feature Tom Sanchez (Independents, 'effortlessly hilarious'--The New York Times) in the title role with Sarah Daniels (Legally Blonde), Rachel B. Joyce (Desire! A Varsouviana), Cory Asinofsky (Puppet Hamlet), Ben Diserens, Jillian Rorrer, Joseph Flynn, and Alex Kramer among others. Arrangements and original music by Mark Levy of The Academy Blues Project. This production will mark Less Than Rent's tenth full production since its inception in 2010.
