Europe's first-ever pop-up Shakespearean Theatre, Shakespeare's Rose Theatre has announced its full cast and creative team for its week-long run of “Macbeth” and “A Midsummer Night's Dream” at the Theatre at Solaire in Paranaque City from September 17-22, 2019.
Preparations are in full swing for a glorious Summer of Shakespeare for the North and South, as the full company of SHAKESPEARE'S ROSE THEATRE, the award-winning pop-up Shakespearean Theatre, comes together for the first time ahead of its triumphant return to York this summer, and its expansion to a second site at Blenheim Palace. The SHAKESPEARE'S ROSE THEATRE Company has commenced rehearsals for eight of Shakespeare's most popular plays, which will be performed in repertory by two companies of actors based at each location.

Having won multiple awards internationally, War Horse is directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris and designed by Rae Smith, with puppet direction, design and fabrication by Basil Jones and Adrian Kohler for Handspring Puppet Company, lighting by Paule Constable, and movement and horse choreography by Toby Sedgwick, with video design by Leo Warner and Mark Grimmer, songmaker John Tams, music by Adrian Sutton and sound by Christopher Shutt. This week three new and six returning cast members will join the London company of the National Theatre's internationally acclaimed stage production War Horse at the New London Theatre.
Joey from the National Theatre's acclaimed production of War Horse appeared on stage at the Olympic Park to salute Team GB and the world's athletes. Led by Captain Nicholls (Alex Avery), Joey reared in salute to the crowd at Park Live, which included Zara Phillips who along with her team later won silver in the equestrian events in Greenwich. The Broadway production of War Horse, which continues its run at the Lincoln Center's Vivien Beaumont Theatre, was the winner of six Tony Awards including a Special Tony Award for Handspring Puppet Company. In February of this year War Horse opened to great critical acclaim at The Princess of Wales Theatre, Toronto. War Horse premiered at The National Theatre in October 2007.

Olivier Award-winner Anthony Sher will play the fiery 19th century Shakespearean actor of the title in an upcoming West End production of Jean Paul Sartre's Kean, which will begin previews at the Apollo Theatre on May 24th and open on May 30th for a limited run.
