Immerse yourself in the uproarious world of Avenue Q, where the cheekiest puppets in town, skillfully brought to life by the Coachella Valley's top musical theater performers, under the direction of James Owens, take center stage. This Tony Award-winning musical is a delightful journey through the challenges of growing up, the pursuit of grand dreams, and the quest to discover life's true purpose.
Meet Princeton, the optimistic graduate with big aspirations and a minuscule bank account, venturing into the bustling landscape of New York City. Forced by budget constraints, he sets up residence on Avenue Q, a quirky neighborhood inhabited by a cast of eccentric characters. From Brian, the unemployed comedian, and his therapist fiancée Christmas Eve, to Nicky, the benevolent slacker, and his closeted gay Republican roommate Rod, the residents of Avenue Q are a charmingly odd bunch. Throw in an Internet 'sexpert' named Trekkie Monster and the adorable kindergarten teacher Kate Monster with a building supervisor, none other than Gary Coleman from TV’s Different Strokes.
Avenue Q is a sidesplitting musical balancing humor with heart, featuring uproarious songs like ‘The Internet is for Porn’ and ‘Everyone's A Little Bit Racist.’ This production first graced Off-Broadway’s Vineyard Theatre in 2003 before making a triumphant move to Broadway later that year, securing three Tony Awards for Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book. Its success continued with a five-year run in London's West End in 2006, delighting audiences in over ten countries worldwide.
