On the Toronto Symphony Orchestra’s much-anticipated annual visit to Southam Hall, GRAMMY Award-winning pianist Richard Goode joins Maestro Peter Oundjian and the TSO when they visit Southam Hall to perform Mozart’s graceful and elegant piano concerto. Conceived on a giant scale and requiring vast forces Ein Heldenleben—with the composer as hero doing battle against adversaries or blissfully en famille—again shows Strauss’s skills as an imaginative storyteller using the orchestra as his canvas. Aqua by Canadian composer Vivian Fung (whose music The New York Times called “evocative”) receives its Ottawa premiere to round out the program.
