Latvian conductor Ainars Rubikis makes his NACO debut leading Schubert’s “Great” Symphony, a work of unyielding melody and majesty cementing the composer as Beethoven’s successor of symphonic writing. Acclaimed as a “one-of-a-kind concert artist” by the Los Angeles Times, pianist Marc-André Hamelin performs Beethoven's glorious Piano Concerto No. 4.
