The 39 Steps is pulling audiences in and Plosive Productions brings Pulitzer-Prize-winning author David Mamet's riveting Speed-the-Plow to the stage on October 5th, keeping the theatrical bar high!

The 1988 premiere of this snappy, fast-paced satire of the film industry in Hollywood introduced pop sensation Madonna in her first theatrical role. Speed-the-Plow was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play and Best Direction of a Play (Gregory Mosher).

Directing Mamet's trademark rapid-fire dialogue is Teri Loretto-Valentik, a familiar face to Ottawa theatre and television audiences. A local television personality, director, and award-winning actor, Loretto-Valentik brings to bear more than 25 years of experience.

Featuring acting veterans Chris Ralph (Noises Off, A Flea in Her Ear) and John Muggleton (H20 [TV], Drinking Alone), Ottawa's cast also introduces a fine young actress, Kyla Gray, in her professional theatrical debut.

So don't miss out on Mamet's classic satire, which focuses on the ruthless nature of Hollywood and the movie industry while also commenting on the value of art, the nature of friendship, lies, sex and radiation...

Wait...what?...Radiation?

Come see Speed-the-Plow and find out what exactly THAT means...
